## What is Umrah?
Umrah is often called the "lesser pilgrimage" and can be performed at any time of the year. Unlike Hajj, it is not obligatory but is highly recommended (Sunnah Mu'akkadah).
## The 8 Steps of Umrah
### 1. Make Your Intention & Enter Ihram
Before crossing the Miqat boundary, make your sincere intention to perform Umrah for the sake of Allah alone. Put on the Ihram garments — two white unstitched sheets for men, modest clothing for women.
### 2. Recite the Talbiyah
From the moment you enter Ihram until you begin Tawaf, continuously recite the Talbiyah: "Labbayk Allahumma labbayk..."
### 3. Enter Masjid al-Haram
Enter the Sacred Mosque with your right foot first, reciting the dua for entering the mosque.

### 6. Pray 2 Rakats at Maqam Ibrahim
After Tawaf, pray behind Maqam Ibrahim.
### 7. Perform Sa'i (7 Walks)
Walk 7 times between Safa and Marwa.
### 8. Shave or Cut Your Hair
Complete your Umrah by shaving (men) or trimming your hair.
